🎭 all the world is a stage

The NEC Birmingham is one of the UK's most accessible event destinations, and we chose it deliberately for the Better Gaming Show.

At the heart of the country, it puts the event within reach of the entire gaming and lottery industry - whether you're travelling from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or anywhere in between.

The Concourse Suites offer an intimate, high-quality environment that's perfectly sized for a focused, senior-level audience.

This isn't a vast convention hall where you feel lost. It's a space built for meaningful conversation, sharp content and genuine networking.

With direct links to Birmingham International Airport, Birmingham International railway station and over 16,500 parking spaces, attendance is as frictionless as possible for busy professionals.

Some speaker faqs

  • We are looking for open and honest individuals who are eager and enthusiastic to make the gaming industry a safer and healthier environment for everyone involved.

These speakers are passionate about spreading positivity and inspiring others, showing a willingness to face challenges head-on while embracing and owning their unique voices and experiences.

  • It really does depend on the format but here is a rough guide to how we structure the sessions;

    • Solo keynotes - 40-60 mins

    • Fireside/1-2-1 interviews 30-40 mins

    • Panel chats 40-60 mins

    • Quick fire 15-20 mins

  • Check out our guiding principles page as that is our compass when it comes to the speaker sessions.

We engage in discussions that encompass a wide range of important topics, including player protection measures, safer gambling practices that promote healthy habits, the overall impact of gaming on society and the crucial role of technology in creating a more enjoyable and safer gaming environment for all participants.

  • We don't allow sales pitches - they do nobody any good.

By all means promote your thoughts, experience, opinions and anything else but if we get a whiff that the proposal might become a sales deck - we'll pull it from the schedule.

  • We normally like to have the schedule locked in 3-4 months before the show which means we will be planning speakers and accepting proposals up until about Sept/Oct 2025.

There is a big caveat. We will want to see slide decks two months before the event to make sure both parties are happy with the content. If this isn't submitted we could pull your agreed session.

  • We will contact you directly if your proposed session has been successful. Please note, due to high numbers of proposals we are expecting we are only able to contact you if successful.

Better Gaming does not pay for any seminar or workshop speakers. In return for speaking we offer a broad range of promotion across all our activity and we encourage speakers to send us blogs and news that we can promote.

  • Beyond our guiding principles, our main priorities when considering submissions include:

    • Do we have an even spread of sessions catering to all of our visitor types?

    • Are we covering current topics, research and thinking and offering our visitors the chance to meet, listen to and debate with expert speakers from the sector?

    • Are we varying the programme enough? We try to mix up our speakers, topics and sessions as much as we can.

    • Is the programme diverse, inclusive and representative of the sector?
